Mark was terrific! He clearly has a passion for advertising! The Superbowl Ad presentation took everyone (veterans and staff) on a fun trip down memory lane. It seemed to pique a bit of curiosity about what this year held, as well. Mark said he has a presentation about Minnesota advertising and it is one we will consider booking in the future!

I loved the program. It is true he spent a lot of time on autonomous cars, but I found that topic even more interesting than the topic as advertised.

Lectures
INCLUDE

The Art Of Authentication: Copies, Fakes, And Forgeries

In this lecture, we will explore how specialists determine whether a work of art is authentic, a copy, a fake or a forgery. We’ll cover clues that lend themselves to the authentication process including: signatures, provenance, materials, and artistic techniques. The session will also provide insights into who can authenticate works of art, what the authentication process entails, the associated risks, and include real-world case studies of disputed or authenticated works and their impact on market value.

Hidden In Plain Sight: Discoveries In The Art Market

This lecture will explore how art is valued for market demand, focusing on the discovery of undervalued and forgotten works — commonly known as “sleepers” — and the impact they can have when brought to market as rediscoveries. We will discuss the factors that influence the value of a re-discovered work including: the artist, rarity, condition, size, subject matter, and authentication. Examples of “sleepers” emerging onto the market and their stories of rediscovery, and acceptance by the market, will be discussed.

Beyond The Canvas: The Art Of Appraising

This lecture will clarify the process and purpose of appraisal reports for fine art and collectibles, helping attendees understand when appraisals are necessary and how values differ depending on the intended use. We will cover what it means to be a qualified appraiser, the different types of valuations and intended uses for insurance, tax, and financial planning, and when to seek a qualified appraiser’s services. Real world case studies will include the impact of works that were not valued correctly.

Art Market Basics: An Essential Guide To Buying, Selling, And Valuing Art

This lecture will provide attendees with a comprehensive overview of how the art market functions, including an exploration of the various market channels (auction, gallery, online platforms, and private sales). We will discuss the current global market, and influences at play that impact buyer and seller behavior. We will also explore how to buy, how to sell, and tips for collection management.
