About Hand & Upper Extremity Center of New England
At Hand & Upper Extremity Center of New England, we exist for one reason: to give patients on the South Shore and throughout Massachusetts access to fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity surgical care without having to travel deep into Boston for it.
Our Story
Our practice was founded on the belief that patients deserve both ends of the spectrum at once, the depth of expertise you’d expect from a major academic hospital, and the accessibility, communication and personal attention of a local, independent practice. That combination is what brought Dr. John Kadzielski, MD to establish Hand & Upper Extremity Center of New England in Quincy, bringing his Harvard, Tufts and Massachusetts General Hospital training directly into the community.
Our Mission
Our mission is to deliver highly personalized, real-time, world-class definitive care in the community where our patients live whenever possible. We strive to foster a culture of mutual trust, respect, and teamwork among patients, caregivers, staff, and families, and to maintain a safe, respectful environment for everyone who walks through our door.
We aim to leave every patient with a sense of concierge-level treatment, care tailored to their specific goals, values, and circumstances. We uphold the highest standards of privacy, safety and professionalism to protect the integrity of the doctor-patient relationship and to deliver truly compassionate care.
Who We Serve
We treat patients of all ages from Quincy, Braintree, Weymouth, Hingham, Milton, and across the South Shore and greater Boston area, from weekend athletes and working professionals to retirees and workers’ compensation patients recovering from on-the-job injuries.
Why Patients Choose Us
Fellowship-trained expertise.
Dr. Kadzielski completed the Massachusetts General Hospital Hand Surgery Fellowship after the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program, training reserved for a small number of surgeons nationally each year.
A dedicated hand and upper extremity focus.
We don’t treat the whole body, we treat the hand, wrist, elbow and upper extremity, which means deeper expertise in the conditions that bring you in.
Surgery and therapy under one roof.
Our surgeons and hand/occupational therapists coordinate your care directly, so nothing gets lost between appointments.
A record of results in trauma and reconstruction.
From nerve repair to complex infections to gunshot trauma, our team has managed some of the most difficult hand and upper extremity cases in the region, read their stories on our Testimonials page.
Community-based convenience.
Quincy-based care means shorter drives, easier follow-ups, and a team that knows the South Shore.
