How do I schedule an appointment?
Call us at (617) 773-2200 during office hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM), or request an appointment through our online scheduling tool. We recommend calling directly so we can address any specific needs ahead of your visit.
Do you accept insurance?
We accept most major insurance plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Harvard Pilgrim, Mass General Brigham Health Plan, Medicare, MassHealth, Tufts Health Plan, United Healthcare, and workers’ compensation, among others. See our full insurance list on the Patient Tools page. If you don’t see your plan listed, call our office to confirm coverage.
What is hand therapy, and how is it different from occupational therapy?
Hand therapy is a specialized form of rehabilitation focused specifically on the hand, wrist, and elbow, including custom splinting, range-of-motion exercises, scar and edema management, and functional retraining. Occupational therapy takes a broader view of restoring independence in daily activities. Our team works both disciplines together for coordinated, personalized care.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card, a list of current medications, and any relevant medical records or imaging (X-rays, MRI, or CT scans). If you were referred by another physician, bring the referral if your insurance requires one. Arriving 15 minutes early helps ensure your paperwork is complete before your visit.
Do you offer telehealth appointments?
Yes, telehealth consultations are available for appropriate conditions, allowing you to consult with our providers remotely. Call our office to find out if a virtual visit is right for your situation; some conditions still require an in-person exam.
Do you treat workers’ compensation cases?
Yes. We treat work-related hand and upper extremity injuries and coordinate directly with workers’ compensation claims. Let us know at the time of scheduling if your visit is work-related, and bring any relevant claim information.
How can I access my medical records or message my provider?
Our Patient Portal gives you 24/7 access to lab results, medications, appointment scheduling, and secure messaging with our team. Visit our Patient Tools page for login and setup instructions.
